Melissa George, whose full name is Melissa Suzanne George, was born on the 6th of August in Perth, Western Australia. She was the second of four children and developed an interest for dancing at an early age. When she was seven, Melissa began studying jazz, tap, ballet and modern dance. Soon however, her passion for dancing went over to roller skating. Melissa was actually so good at roller skating that she became an Australian national roller skating champion, a interest she presued until she began her acting career in Home and Away in 1993. Melissa potrayed Angel Parish until she left the show in 1997.
When Melissa left Home and Away in 1997, she tried her best to ditch the good-girl image she had get during her time on the show. Soon she moved to Los Angeles she scored multiple roles like in Mulholland Drive, The Limey, Down With Love and other various movies. Melissa also got roles in a few television shows that in the end, never made it onto the screen. One of the shows that managed to get onto the screen for a short period of time was Thieves, in which she co-starred along side John Stamos.
In 2000, Melissa met her future husband Claudio Dabed in Chile and has a step-daughter Martina.
Her break-through in the US was through her role as Lauren Reed on Alias and as Kathy Lutz in the re-make of The Amityville Horror. In 2005 Melissa also appeared in Derailed oppsite Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. In 2006 Melissa had a guest apperance in the Australian television show Two Twisted as Matilda Banks. Same year, Melissa scored the lead role in the movie Turistas with Josh Durhamel and Olivia Wilde as her co-stars.
Now, Melissa has a few movies coming out in 2007; Waz along side Selma Blair and Stellan Skarsgard, 30 Days Of Night with Josh Hartnett and The Music Within co-starring Ron Livingston.
