It has now been confirmed that there will be a sequel to ’30 Days of Night’ which will focus on Melissa’s character Stella. What has been said so far about the film is that “Stella seeks revenge on the blood-thirsty vampires that destroyed her sleepy Alaskan town”. More is to be added. There’s also no official word whether Melissa will return as Stella or if the role will be re-cast.
Grey’s De-Gayed: Melissa George No Longer a Lesbian

It’s true. Sources confirm that Brooke Smith, who plays Dr. Erica Hahn, has been axed from Grey’s Anatomy.
Even more, I’m told by those who work on the ABC series that the gay-themed storylines and gay characters are being downplayed and even erased from the series and upcoming scripts.
And that goes for the series’ latest newcomer, Melissa George of Alias, who joins the show this month…
“Melissa came on as a lesbian character,” a reliable insider tells me, “but they changed the script and now she isn’t. She starts off flirting wth Callie but it never goes anywhere.”
Grey’s has included a prominent bisexual/lesbian storyline this season in the blossoming relationship between Hahn (Smith) and Callie (Sara Ramirez). I’m told that storyline will end abruptly in this Thursday’s episode, which will be Smith’s last appearance on the series.
“They don’t really give her a goodbye,” an ABC source tells me. “It ends rather abruptly.”
EW’s Michael Ausiello first broke the news of Brooke’s dismissal today.
“I was very excited when they told me that Erica and Callie were going to have this relationship,” Brooke told EW. “And I really hoped we were going to show what happens when two women fall in love and that they were going to treat it like any heterosexual couple on TV. And so I was surprised and disappointed when they just suddenly told me that they couldn’t write for my character any more.” Source
Melissa takes time out from her busy Grey’s Anatomy schedule to watch planes zip through sky

HOLLYWOOD high-flyer Melissa George has taken time out from her busy Grey’s Anatomy schedule to watch planes zip through the skies over Perth.
The Perth-born actor was a special guest of the Red Bull Air Race World Series and watched Austrian Hannes Arch finish Saturday’s round with the fastest qualifying time. The result saw Arch assured the series’ title with a single point, putting him in an unbeatable position, regardless of the results of tomorrow’s race.
George, 33, said she had a fascination with aircraft. “I’d love to go up in one of the planes,” she said. “I’m obsessed with it. I want to learn how to fly.” George divides her time between Los Angeles, New York and Argentina, but was thrilled to be home to catch up with family.
“To try to get time out of Grey’s Anatomy is really hard, but I knew that my sister had just had a baby and I wanted to see her desperately,” she said.
“It’s my sister’s third kid and I love seeing her so happy and my mum and dad are here and my little sister. I love Perth, when I come home I really appreciate it.”
George said she jumped at the opportunity to join one of America’s most popular TV shows.
“It’s such a great show and when I met with the creator I just thought ‘wow, I’d love to be part of it’,” she said.
She described her latest role as a bisexual intern as a bit of fun.
“I haven’t stopped laughing since I’ve gone to work,” she said. “It’s the most fun, crazy, great set.”
Despite a hectic filming schedule, George said she maintained a healthy balance between work and home life with her husband, Chilean film director Claudio Dabed.
“When I’m in LA it’s just for work, but when we’re in Buenos Aires it’s just for us, my husband and I,” she said. “We can just relax.” Source
Melissa backs Barack Obama

HER Australian family ties brought her “home” over the weekend, but new Grey’s Anatomy star Melissa George has revealed she’s swapped her Australian citizenship for the right to vote – for Democrat Barack Obama.
The former Home & Away actor, who jetted into Perth for the Red Bull Air Race championships, told Confidential she had cast her ballot in tomorrow’s US presidential elections before leaving Hollywood last week.
“He’s our Martin Luther King,” George said. “He represents hope and change – the opposite of where (the US) is now.”
“I would feel very safe living in America if he were president, he is an amazing man.”
George used her VIP appearance at the aero event to visit her Perth-based family, including her sister’s new daughter Ruby and George’s mum and dad.
It was her second visit home this year, having filmed psychological thriller The Triangle on the Gold Coast in January.
“We shot for 4? months and it was tough,” the actor, who played a woman with multiple personality disorder in the thriller. “(The role) was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done.”
Which is why George’s new role on hit US series Grey’s Anatomy – albeit controversial – has provided her with light relief.
“It’s just been perfect timing because its something fun following something quite dark and hard,” she said.
“I’ve known the cast forever and was a fan of the show, but to actually work on it has been amazing. I love that I get to go to work and just laugh.
“Patrick Dempsey (who plays Dr McDreamy) constantly has me in stitches.”
The fun looks set to continue for George, who confirmed she was signed on to the series for a minimum of eight episodes. Source.
